Joint Councils
take another
step towards
one government

Another small step was made towards a united
governmental voice for all of Six
Nations at Saturday’s second meeting of the
joint councils held at the Six Nations
Community Hall.
Although no specific resolutions transpired, this
step involved the education of how the Elected
Band Council operates, something that some
take for granted, but many confederacy followers
do not fully understand.
Six Nations Band Council is the biggest
employer on the reserve with 542 people on payroll
which balloons to between 700 and 800 in
the summer including part timers.
After Chief Bill Montour delivered a power
point presentation he informed those in attendance
that hard copies of the presentation would
be made available to whoever wanted one at....
